Fission is the process by which a single-celled organism divides into two or more roughly with equal parts. The parent cell divides to form two daughter cells that grow into free existing individual cells. It is mostly seen in bacteria and some protozoa. The genetic information of the parent is continually transferred to the daughter cells.
