I have 6 feet of string. I need pieces, each of length 1 foot. How many pieces can I have?

What you have to do is divide 6 by 1, as the string is 6 feet long and you need 1 foot pieces. 6 divided by 1 is 6. So you will have 6 1 foot pieces.
