3x+4y=2 4x-4y=12 by using elimination

(+3x+4y=2)
(+4x-4y=12)
-----------------
7x = 14
-----------------

X=2

3(2)+4y=2
6+4y=2
4y=-4
Y=-1.
Or you can plug x into the other equation.

4(2)-4y=12
8-4y=12
-4y=4
Y=-1.
