eqn of line: y = mx + c
where m is the gradient and c is the y intercept
gradient = (8-4)/(0-(-2)) = 4/2 = 2
thus y = 2x + c
sub (0,8) into this eqn
8 = 2(0) + c
c = 8
eqn of line: y = 2x + 8
